£5m drug haul and firearm discovered during Glasgow raid

Officers from the Serious and Organised Crime squad recovered a significant haul of Class A drugs, including multiple kilos of heroin, cocaine, MDMA and ecstasy tablets.

A huge drugs haul worth £5m and a gun has been seized by specialist cops following a raid on a Glasgow property.

Officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce recovered a significant haul of Class A drugs, including multiple kilos of heroin, cocaine, MDMA and ecstasy tablets.

The crack team stormed a property in the city's Curzon Street on Friday, October 2024.

Officers uncovered more than 90kgs of cocaine, 23kgs of heroin and 19kgs of MDMA. They also seized 5,800 diazepam and ecstasy tablets. Cash, a gun and ammunition was also uncovered.

The serious crime squad also found 20kg of cocaine stashed in a vehicle at the property.

Police say the drugs have an estimated street value of £5.5million.

Two men, aged 45 and 30, and a woman aged 31, have been arrested and charged in connection with the major bust.

The three suspects are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, October 7.

Detective Superintendent Steven Elliott said: “This very significant recovery sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.

“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated on the streets of Scotland and addressing the concerns of local people.
